Publishing Rules

Last updated: 7 June 2026

01

Every listing is reviewed

Every listing, whether free or Premium, is reviewed before going live. Until approved, it remains in "Under review" status and is not visible in searches. Once approved, it becomes public and you receive an email confirmation. If it does not comply with these rules, it is not published and we explain the reason, so you can correct it and submit it again.

02

One listing, one boat

Each listing must relate to a single boat. Multiple photos of the same boat are perfectly fine, but two different boats must be published in two separate listings. A second boat means a second listing, with its corresponding plan.

03

Prohibited content

Listings containing false or inconsistent data, test or nonsensical text, suspicious contact details or links, offensive, unlawful, or misleading content, or content that does not relate to a boat or nautical experience, are not permitted.

04

Contact details and Premium plan

With the free plan, interested parties contact you via email. With Premium, you display all contact channels (telephone, WhatsApp, email, and other links), publish more photos, and receive the "Verified Seller" badge after email and phone verification. The badge confirms the seller's contact details, not the condition of the boat.

05

Visibility

Premium and boosts provide priority in The Boat Platform's internal search results, the only ranking we can control. The Premium listing page is also optimised with structured data and indexable by search engines: this helps improve discoverability, but does not guarantee any ranking on Google or other search engines.

06

Payments

For Premium, the card is securely saved via Stripe when selecting the plan, with no initial charge. The charge occurs only when the listing is approved and goes live. If the listing is not approved, there is no charge.
