The Italian nautical marketplace with zero commissions

Patrick Pannozzi

Patrick is an entrepreneur with over ten years of experience, today running three businesses: a B2B consultancy on artificial intelligence and sales, a community where he teaches how to use AI and build automations, and The Boat Platform. The marketplace grew out of exactly those skills: complex markets, sales processes and technology.

But the starting point is the sea. Patrick was born in Terracina and has always worked on the water, as a lifeguard when he was a boy and later on boats, on the side of the people who prepare them, maintain them and actually take them out. He has held a boating licence since 2022 and is a certified skipper.

Professionally he holds three degrees in business and international management earned across Italy, Ireland and Canada, speaks four languages, and spent seven and a half years at Oracle EMEA, rising to Sales Manager. Across more than sixty countries visited he found the same problem everywhere: nautical platforms keeping a significant share of the work of the people who are out at sea.

Why The Boat Platform exists

Growing up inside the nautical world, Patrick spent years collecting the problems operators told him about. Always the same ones, everywhere: a market concentrated in a handful of international platforms, and commissions that weigh on the margins of those working locally, because part of the revenue is gone before anyone has even set foot on the boat.

On top of that, many point to a review system in which a single negative rating can compromise an entire season, and to the fragmentation between different platforms, each specialised in one thing only.

The answer

Zero commission on transactions.

The aim is to change a traditional sector that has always been in the hands of international agencies and intermediaries.

One platform for everything

Rentals, sales and boat experiences, for those who offer and those who search. No more separate platforms, separate calendars, and policies and rules to manage one by one.

The price is the operator's price

No percentage withheld: the price shown is set by whoever provides the service. No more inflated prices to cover commissions.

Freedom of payment

Including cash or a hybrid arrangement, with a tracked deposit and the balance paid in person. Maximum flexibility for a calm season.
