Use of artificial intelligence and editorial bylines

The content on The Boat Platform blog is produced with the assistance of artificial intelligence systems and verified by the editorial team against cited sources prior to publication.

Articles are signed with three editorial bylines: Marco Rinaldi (itineraries and destinations), Chiara Vitale (comparisons and pricing), and Federico Conti (regulations and safety). These bylines do not correspond to natural persons: they serve to group thematic areas in a recognizable manner and to make explicit which verification method was applied to the content. They do not represent personal experiences, professional titles, or individual qualifications.

The reliability of our content is based on the primary sources cited in each article (Guardia Costiera (Italian Coast Guard), MIT, Capitanerie di Porto (Harbour Master's Offices), applicable legislation) and on aggregated data from listings published on the platform, not on the personal experience of an individual author. Regulatory articles are informational in nature and do not constitute legal advice.

Artificial intelligence is also used in other platform functions, under human supervision. The purposes are specified in the Privacy Policy.

Editorial principles

• Accuracy first. Non-verifiable data is not published. When information is uncertain, we use ranges rather than point values.
• Transparency on sources. Every article addressing regulations, safety, or market data explicitly cites the consulted sources.
• Independence from brands. Competitor mentions are presented in an analytical and neutral form, without evaluative adjectives, and based on publicly verifiable data.
• No proprietary photos that cannot be authenticated: images are sourced from stock libraries under commercial license (Unsplash, Pexels, Shutterstock).

Accepted sources

For regulatory, administrative, or safety content, we exclusively accept primary institutional sources:

• Comando Generale del Corpo delle Capitanerie di Porto, Guardia Costiera (Italian Coast Guard)
• Ministero delle Infrastrutture e dei Trasporti (MIT)
• Codice della Nautica da Diporto (D.Lgs. 18 luglio 2005, n. 171 e successive modifiche) (Italian Recreational Boating Code)
• Ordinances and circulars issued by the territorially competent Capitanerie di Porto (Harbour Master's Offices)
• Official publications from ISTAT, Confindustria Nautica, and UCINA for industry statistics

For destinations and itineraries, we accept as supporting sources: regional tourism boards, official marine parks, and nautical chart guides published by specialized publishers.

Fact-checking process

1. Each article states the date of the last fact-check in the front-matter (lastFactCheck field).
2. Regulatory articles are re-verified at least every 6 months and upon any reported legislative change.
3. Destination guides are re-verified annually for updates on local ordinances, access regulations, and seasonal restrictions.
4. When an article cites aggregated data from our marketplace, the "How we produced this article" section indicates the sample date and the number of listings considered.

Rectification procedure

If any of our content contains a factual error, you can report it by writing to info@theboatplatform.com. We verify the report within 5 working days and, if substantiated, update the article, indicating the date and nature of the modification at the end.
